Features

If you own, sell, fund, or regularly appraise Heidelberg, Komori, and/or Man Roland sheetfed presses, you need the FairMarket Guide!

Because of our industry experience, the Guide is your best source for Fair Market, Orderly Liquidation, Quick Sale and Auction value opinions, Specifications, and Serial Number information on all actively-traded Heidelberg, Komori, and Man Roland sheetfed presses. The features described below only add to its value!

Quick search and drill-down search functionality helps you locate equipment quickly and easily

With QuickSearch, you can quickly jump to a particular press or group of presses, just by typing the name in the box.

Quick Search example

As indicated by the example above, typing in a press name, or a partial name, will locate all of the matching machines and display them on the Results tab.

NOTE: Searching for "heidelberg" will not display all Heidelberg machines, since the 'Heidelberg' text is not considered part of the press's name. However, searching for "sm" will bring up all of the SpeedMaster models (52, 74, etc.). If you want to search by manufacturer, it is better to use the Drill-down search facility.

The Guide keeps track of items you have searched for, and remembers this for future use.

The Drill-down search helps you quickly navigate to whatever level of results you desire: by manufacturer, by model group for a particular manufacturer, or all the way down to a particular model.

Drill-down Search example

In the example above, Heidelberg has been chosen for the manufacturer. The Group box then lists only model groups for Heidelberg. Once a group is selected, the search can be further refined by selecting a model within the selected group.

For example, if you select Heidelberg for the manufacturer and then click the Search button to the right, the Results tab will list all of the equipment in the Guide where Heidelberg is the manufacturer.

If you select Heidelberg for the manufacturer, and then select SM 74 for the group, and then click the Search button to the right, the Results tab will list all of the equipment in the Guide that belongs to the SpeedMaster 74 group.

If you select Heidelberg for the manufacturer, select SM 74 for the group, and then select SM 74-4+L for the model, and then click the Search button to the right, the Guide will display the equipment tab for the SpeedMaster 74-4+L press.

Bookmarking keeps your most frequent search results and equipment just a click or two away

The bookmarks feature of the FairMarket Guide should be familiar to anyone who has used internet browsers to mark web sites to revisit. Like the Favorites menu in Internet Explorer, or the Bookmarks menu in Mozilla and Firefox, the Bookmarks menu in the Guide makes it easy to come back to a set of results or a particular machine without having to use any of the search methods.

The Guide tracks two kinds of bookmarks: bookmarks for search results, and bookmarks for equipment. Any results that have been bookmarked previously will be listed in Bookmarks menu.

Bookmarks example

From the example above, we have bookmarked a number of presses from previous searches; clicking on a bookmark will open up a new equipment tab with that machine's information.

Calculating value opinions based on which add-on options are included (i.e., dryers, etc.) has never been easier

One of the primary reasons we created a digital version of the FairMarket Guide was to provide certain features that are impossible to do in any "book" format. The add-on feature described here is an example of that.

If there are one or more add-on options available for a press, they will be listed in the add-ons section of the equipment tab for that press:

Add-ons example

Each add-on affects the value opinions in one of four ways: (1) it increases the base value opinion by a percentage; (2) it decreases the base value opinion by a percentage; (3) it increases the base value opinion by a flat dollar amount; (4) it decreases the base value opinion by a flat dollar amount

The add-on options can be checked (i.e., selected) right on the same page where they are displayed. As each option is selected, changes to the base value opinions are reflected immediately.

An example of how this works can be found in the online help documentation here.

Equipment reports show all value opinions, add-on options, specifications, and definitions for each press

One you have a machine's results displayed on the screen, and after selecting any applicable add-ons, you can easily produce a report showing the same information, in the same format.

Examples of the reports produced can be found here.
